新型コロナウィルスの感染拡大によりイベントの中止や延期など世界各国で多大な影響が出ておりますが、私どもiFでもこのパンデミックの終結に向けてひとりひとりができることを考え前向きに歩を進めております。

現在iFのチームメンバーの多くが自宅作業をしておりご迷惑をおかけすることもございますが、本年度のiFデザインアワードに世界のクリエイティブ／製造業界の皆様があらゆる挑戦に貢献できるデザインをご応募いただけるよう万全の体制を整えています。

－iF SOCIAL IMPACT PRIZE

社会的に意義のあるプロジェクトを対象としています。賞金を倍増し€100,000と致しました。

－iF DESIGN TALENT AWARD

学生を対象としたアワードです。テーマは国連のSDGs（持続可能な達成目標）とし、学生の皆様が世界規模の社会的挑戦をいかに解決するかを考え、卒後に社会起業家としてスタジオや会社をスタートするきっかけになることを期待しています。学生アワードの賞金を€50,000に増加しました。

－iF DESIGN FOUNDATION

ヨハネスブルグ会議を最終として全会議を終了いたしました。現在各会議の討議をまとめ「デザイン教育の未来」と題した白書を来年2021年のアワードナイトにて発行する予定です。

－iF DESIGN AWARD 2021

世界的な感染拡大の脅威が広がる中祝祭のムードとは対極にある昨今ですが、私どもiFは2021に向けての準備を進めています。中止となりました2020同様ベルリン市のFriedrichstadt-Palastを式典会場として2021年5月10日の開催を予定しています。
2021ではアワード審査システムを変更いたしますが、これらの情報はiFのウェブサイトにてオンラインでご覧いただけます。（英語のみ）

－Berlin Design Week

ベルリンデザインウィークがパートナーとなり、2021年5月7日から16日までのウィーク期間中に様々なプログラムを予定しております。皆様ご自身もレクチャーやパネルディスカッションなどイベントを開催することが可能です。

多くの皆様が今年のiFの事業にご参加いただけることを楽しみにしております。

Dear Friends and Partners,

Some governments have already begun planning for the post-Coronavirus world. This is yet another vital challenge which we hope will be tackled successfully. These days, it is important to focus on something positive as we all long for an end to the pandemic.

While most members of the iF team continue to work from home, we have started our engines again and are inviting our creative and industry partners to make an even greater contribution to meeting old and new challenges.

>> The iF SOCIAL IMPACT PRIZE showcases our philanthropic engagements all over the world. We have now doubled the prize money for projects “supported by iF” to € 100,000.

>> The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals determine the categories of the iF DESIGN TALENT AWARD. This helps students to better understand how they can contribute to meeting the world’s greatest social challenges. We want to encourage them to use design as a tool for positive social change. We hope that many graduates will feel inspired to become “social entrepreneurs”, setting up their own studios and companies. We have raised the prize money for this student award to € 50,000.

>> The iF Design Foundation has concluded all of its regional conferences – the final one took place in Johannesburg. Now it is time to evaluate the contributions and exchanges from those conferences and to plan our final conference and a white paper on “The Future of Design Education”. This will be published at our iF design award night 2021.

>> The iF DESIGN AWARD 2021 is already online. Though we may not yet be in the mood to celebrate, we are looking ahead to better times when we can again gather to acknowledge and applaud excellent design and those behind it. We booked the venue this week: As we had intended for this year, we will host you at Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin. The awards ceremony will take place on Monday, 10 May 2021. We have also redesigned the award process, and will communicate details of the new format to you a week from now; alternatively, you can view it online.

>> Berlin Design Week will be our close partner for this event, offering various opportunities for you to present your design programs and philosophies from 7 to 16 May 2021. We will also host a stimulating panel discussion, a lecture program, and more.
